Well, it seems like the project has hit another milestone. According to numerous different twitter accounts, Rockstar held auditions earlier today for both voice acting and motion capture. In addition to that, character descriptions for several of the characters were also provided by RockStar to help performers get into character. The descriptions flesh out a good deal of what to expect from the game, so beware of spoilers before checking that out.

You don't hear much about 1940s crime thriller L.A. Noire these days but don't think that means that it's in limbo. Publisher Rockstar Games says the game's development is going well.

Take-Two boss Ben Feder has touched on the development of Rockstar's elusive L.A. Noir, confirming that the long-delayed mystery romp is still very much in the works and promises to be highly innovative.
Team Bondi's long-in-development, film noire inspired L.A. Noire is still in development, despite a now years-long absence from the public eye. Last we heard, the developer was still staffing up for the Rockstar-published game; today, Take-Two CEO Ben Feder provided a little more hope that it'll eventually come out.
